Shawna Nevins Risk Management and Insurance Analyst Lewisville Independent School District
Shawna’s major responsibility includes ensuring that the district has adequate external insurance protections, including identifying new areas of risk as they arise and managing the procurement, and administration of all insurance professional service contracts as well as contract consultants. Shawna developed firm vendor insurance requirements for LISD to ensure that every vendor that does business with the district has adequate coverage. She trains staff members and other individuals on insurance related issues. Shawna serves on the Texas Prima Member Services Committee and is an active member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials. She is a certified School Risk Manager, Texas School Business Specialist, and Texas School Business Official. She serves as a peer mentor for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. In her spare time, she serves as a Girl Scout troop volunteer and volunteers at her school district in many capacities.
